Winnipeg Bachatafest Competition

Welcome to Winnipeg Bachatafest Competition Registration — where the music never stops and the competition never ends!

Join us for an electrifying experience as we bring you categories of different levels in both Salsa, Bachata and more! We have our competition happening on Friday afternoon from 11am-6pm at the Event Exchange Centre located at 291 Bannatyne Avenue.

Our competition isn't just for the adults! Kids can showcase their talent and groove alongside the adults in this fun-filled event. Get ready to show off your moves, meet fellow dancers, and compete in a friendly yet exhilarating environment. It's a celebration of dance for all ages!

Registration Timeline:
Early Bird - February 20 to March 31
Regular Price - April 1 to May 16
Late Price - May 17 to June 5

Due to time constraint, registration may be closed earlier, so sign up to avoid disappointment!

Different categories for professionals, children, solos, duos and teams available. Plus an exciting new OPEN DIVISION with a cash prize of $300 that will be competed on Saturday night. Anything goes - open to any and all styles!

Competition Regulations

Showcase Music:

  • Length: No more than 1.5 - 2.5 minutes long (Teams up to 3 minutes)

  • Dancers have no more than 20 seconds to get into position for performance

  • Any choreography prior to beginning of music will be counted towards overall performance time

  • Dancers have a maximum of 20 seconds to conclude and leave the dance floor

Song Submissions Must Be Renamed:

Please RENAME the file name to the following format:
FullName-Category-Solo/Duo or TeamName-Category

Example:
JohnDoe-Amateur-SalsaSolo.mp3 or
JaneSmith-BachataSolo-17AndUnder.wave or
DanceWorldTeam-SalsaTeamShowcase.mp3

There must be one song uploaded per showcase registration

Music Submission Deadline:

Please submit your music no later than June 1, 2025. *NOTE: Music submitted on day of event will incur a late charge of $10 per song.
