Julian & Léa

Inspiring Winnipeg Through Dance

This June and July, we’re excited to welcome Julian and Léa as they train with our dance school, bringing their passion and expertise to our community.

Léa – A Multidisciplinary Artist

With a background in ballet, contemporary, and jazz, Léa transitioned into Latin dance, quickly making her mark on national and international stages. A champion competitor in Canada and Mexico, she also shines as a showgirl in cabaret and corporate events.

Julian – A Rising Talent

Julian began his dance journey in 2019, training in Cali-style salsa before expanding into salsa on1 and bachata. His dedication led to multiple national titles across Canada as an amateur soloist, duo, and team competitor.

A Winning Partnership

Dancing together since 2022, Julian and Léa became national bachata champions in 2023. Their energy, knowledge, and artistry will enrich Winnipeg’s dance scene this summer.

LEVELS

EXPLAINED

Not sure about your level? Here's a brief guideline! All students start at level 1 and progress from there. It's crucial to grasp the basics before moving on to higher levels.

  • This class is designed for new and beginner students aiming to learn the basics. We recommend that beginner students continue taking these classes until they master the fundamentals, including proper technique, timing, and body movement.

New beginners should start with Level 1 classes for a minimum of 3 months before progressing to Level 2.

  • Having mastered the basics, these classes place greater emphasis on proper techniques and fundamentals. They are ideal for beginner dancers who have become comfortable with their basics, timing, and body movements, and who now wish to expand their repertoire and learn new moves. Additionally, these classes offer experienced dancers an opportunity to revisit their fundamentals and techniques, and to gain extra practice.

  • These classes cater to experienced dancers seeking a stimulating challenge with an enjoyable demonstration. New moves and techniques are introduced in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

You must have a strong grasp of the basics. Dancers who do not meet this level and join the classes may be asked to undergo an assessment.

  • Advanced level students are often those who have joined the Dance World company's training and competitive teams and train on a monthly basis. These teams travel to the Canada Salsa Congress in Toronto to compete at the Nationals and also participate in various events and performances across Canada.

We kindly ask that students attend classes corresponding to their level to ensure everyone has a fair chance to learn. If you're uncertain about your level, feel free to ask us for a quick assessment, and we'll be happy to help!
